Description
ca, 1890 Anderson-of-Bristol Cockerel – SOLD
Very rare figure as these Anderson cockerels are unique to the famous Blists Hill Gallopers, ridden by King George VI in 1924. No other ride ever had this design of cockerel. The ca. 1890 Anderson-of-Bristol gallopers still exists and resides at the Victorian museum in Ironbridge, England, with all of the original figures but for two cockerels and one horse replaced by a chariot. Full documentation available.
Located in the UK.
A look at the carving detail on the other Cockerel, just recently stripped. The Cockerel for sale is still in the heavy show paint.
