CA 1890s Charles I. D. Looff Goat – SOLD
Middle row prancer. Stripped and ready for paint with a little sanding and filling. Originally from a carousel operating at Lake Mishnock Grove, West Greenwich, RI. Mishnock Grove was a Looff/Stein & Goldstein/Dare mixed three-row machine. Sold at Guernsey’s Auction, Nov. 1986 to Wanda & Bob Hoelscher of Seattle, WA. Purchased by Pat & Keith Jamieson in April, 1990. See Carousel Art issue #24 page 20. Note that in the Carousel Art issue, the goat had no horns. Bob Hoelscher was going to carve new ones when he received an unexpected call saying that the horns had been found at the amusement park. They were sent to him and reunited with the figure. Stand included.
