Peek-a-Boo Mane Heyn – SOLD
From the Owner —
“Museum quality, turn-of-the-century Heyn outside row prancer. Original paint with subtle crazing from age, and rubbed areas from small hands. Never “park” painted, which is rare. Three of these original paint horses known by owner to exist. Sound throughout, no repairs. Appears original natural tail, reins also look original. Comes with a very heavy brass decorative stand.
Was purchased by owners parents in the mid ’70s, in Santa Cruz, California. The exquisite German carving of Heyn horses is recognized for its extremely realistic detailing, and the firey live expression on the horses faces. The very muscled neck, luxuriant and detailed mane are unusual. The painted roses and detailing are also unique to the original paint. This beautiful art piece graced my parents very formal living room for decades.”
