Worked for E. Joy Morris briefly, then “Cherni” joined Gustav Dentzel Co., remaining through William Dentzel Co. Best known for his claim to be behind the distinct stylizing of the Dentzel menagerie figures. One of the very few “Golden Age” artisans, along with Barney Illions, to survive into 1960s and ’70s to witness the resurgence of the antique carousel’s appreciation.
