Rare Circa 1906 PTC Wolf

$27,500

CA 1906 PTC Wolf

Extremely rare figure. Deeply carved fur and simple saddle and trappings make this one of the most realistic carousel figures ever carved. One of only two wolves known to exist, although there is rumor of a third, that no one has seen. From PTC #13, the infamous carousel that also carried, Bruno, the St. Bernard that sold for $174,000 and remains the highest selling carousel figure ever at public auction. PTC #13 first operated at Luna Park in Hartford, CT, then Bailey’s Park in Norfolk, VA, and finally at Trier’s West Swinney Park in Ft. Wayne, IN. Dispersed in 1973.
