Circa 1920 Spillman Jumper – SOLD

Rare figure known as the “Sunflower horse”. Outside row jumper believed to have been carved by either Looff or Carmel as a deluxe, one-of-a-kind figure. From the 3-row Spillman carousel that last operated in Elizabethton, TN by American Legion Post 49. Previously operating at a park in Asheville, NC into the late ’50s. Sold at auction in April, 1992. Originally purchased by Jon Abbott and restored by The Carousel Works in July 1992 which was featured in The Carousel News & Trader magazine at that time. Very good condition with a few minor flakes. Brass stand and pole included.
